Joan Elizabeth Terry
Team J.E.T. is made up of two best friends, Melissa and Caitlin, who are passionate about supporting the research to find a cure for cancer. Their desire to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day is to honor a very special woman claimed by the disease in 2000. Joan Elizabeth Terry, the inspiration behind Team J.E.T., was an amazing mother, wife, coach and volunteer. She was a wonderful mom who raised her four children with love and inspired them to find joy in every aspect of life. She was a devoted wife who was an artistic support in her husband’s photography business. She coached her youngest daughter to become a state champion equestrian rider and co-founded a non-profit equestrian riding program for physically and mentally handicapped children. Joan is one woman, one story of a bright life lost to a widespread and deadly disease. According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, more than 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That’s why Team J.E.T. is working hard to raise money for research for a cure to end breast cancer.
